Pulao Rice (Fried Rice)
In my veggie version the aim to get tasty and filling food quickly
into your system.
Ingredients
For
two:
1,5 dl basmati rice
2 tbsp
oil
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
2 cloves
1 green cardamon pod
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
curry leaves
1 onion, chopped
1 cm ginger, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 green chilli, chopped
1 potato, peeled and chopped into small pieces
1 small carrot, peeled and chopped
cauliflower or broccoli, separated into bite-size florets
1/2 dl beans or peas
1 small tomato, chopped
salt
Masala:
1 tsp coriander
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/3 tsp red chilli
1/2 tsp garam masala
Instructions
1. Boil the rice.

Heat the oil in a pan. Add the bay leaf, cumin seeds, cardamon,
cloves, mustard seeds and curry leaves.

When the seeds begin to crackle, add the garlic, ginger and
green chilli.

Add the onion and potatoes.
5.
Add the masala and the rest of the vegetables. Add some water
if needed. Lower the heat somewhat and keep on cooking for ten
minutes or so until the potatoes are no longer raw.

Add the ready-cooked rice and mix well.
7.
Serve with raita, tomatoes and onion rings.
